ZAO maintains two instruments used for space
weather research: one of the Space Environmental
Viewing and Analysis Network (SEVAN) particle detectors (Figure 3) and a Sudden Ionospheric Disturbance (SID) monitor. SEVAN detector is also used for
research of new high-energy phenomena originated in
terrestrial atmosphere – Thunderstorm Ground Enhancements (TGEs).
